The New Zealand Linguistics Olympiad (NZLO) is committed to making linguistics accessible to students across New Zealand. Round 1 is free of charge, allowing all eligible students to explore the fascinating world of linguistics and problem solving regardless of their background.

As students progress through the competition, participation in later stages may involve additional costs to support the organisation of regional and national events, training activities, and international representation.
